Hello World

Wow, its been a while since I've been able to check in on this place.  Sadly I don't even have anything to report, I've been on a bit of a kick with my Space Wolves and so the Roughnecks haven't seen any action.

I'll try and drag out the squads I built around Christmas and finalise the paint on them, and I've got a Vendetta conversion that I might also attempt over the next month or so so there's a good chance there'll be more progress on here soon.

Hopefully some poor souls will still be following this by then, if you are, I thank you for your patience.

Cheers, bG

Service Guarantees Citizenship!

Its General Election day here in the UK, and all of you out there should get yourself down to the poll stations and cast your vote, no excuses.  Its the closest a general election has been in this country in a very long time and could be the time we finally see some changes in the political landscape which has remained the same for over a century - I for one welcome that.

So in homage to the ideals of the ST universe, when voting is a priviledge and not a right, I think we all owe it to ourselves to make our voice heard, not matter how small you think it is.

Landing Craft - 2

A ways back when, I talked about making a landing craft a-la starship troopers for my guard to use in place of valkyries. Well I just read this article which shows a brilliant conversion of a storm-raven gunship using a valkyrie as base, and looking at it there is a lot there that I think would go perfectly in creating a starship troopers landing craft.

I recently bought an old valkyrie from someone at the local game store, cost me £10, and I'm going to see if I can't pull it apart and have a go at making something from it before I start working on my new-in-box valkyrie.

I might just have some real content to post here before too long.

Company Command Squad

Another long absence, sorry about that.  Here's the final models that I built before Christmas for my starter Mobile Infantry army.   They are -

The Company Command Squad:

With Iron-Hand Straken to represent Lt. Rasczak

... and here is Sgt. Bastonne representing Jonny Rico, who will be my veteran squad commander.

Hope you like them, they may see some paint in the near future too

Squads 2 and 3

Its just a teaser, I snapped a couple of pics of MI squads 2 and 3 after priming them but before painting.

I discovered just how quick the painting can be as when I did get to sit down with these guys, I managed to do all the fatigues and armour on them in about 2 1/2 hours from undercoat to dried washes with only the flesh left to do.

I've got a company command squad, most of a platoon command squad and a couple of extra guys to do as well. Lots of pics will be coming along soon.
